I wouldn’t call Ukraine an ally, more like a puppet we use. Ukraine does serve a strategic importance as a buffer against Russia which we need, but to call us an ally is a stretch.

Why do Democrats keep using that word "we" so loosely?
That area of the world has been in a constant state of conflict since the Roman empire divided.
"We" were essentially founded to escape that constant conflict. "We" are 5000 miles away from that conflict zone. "We" are not Europe. "We" have no business in the Ukraine. "We" have been in 20+ years of war because "We" keep forgetting that "We" are not Europe.
The sooner we let the Brits, the Germans and the Russians settle their 1700 year old divorce the better everyone will be.
