BAU speech & active political participation > lawful and peaceful protests > civil disobedience > violence and destruction

It’s a scale…kinda like the use of force continuum for cops. At least in the US, I don’t see any reason at all to go past regular daily speech or lawful protests. I don’t know a lot about Canada or follow them, but the little I do know is that their Covid restrictions have been wildly unpopular with the public and the prime minister (until very recently) refused to consider easing them. So honestly I don’t know if civil disobedience is justified there or not…. But you are right that such action causes harm and should not be taken lightly.

Then you should be pissed at the Canadian government for forcing people out of their job. What else are the truckers supposed to do? Just lose their job because the government says so?

I don't live in Canada. I don't give a fuck about Canada. All I know is some bitch ass truckers are causing supply issues. The direct issue is those truckers. Fuck them.

After watching some videos of how long these lines are it got me thinking; even if tomorrow the truckers (and the farmers who have joined them) are like "Okay! We got what we wanted! Let's clear out!" How long would it take for them to move it all? Like the guy in front has to get into his truck and move it first, then the guy behind him has to move, then the guy behind him, and so on and so forth. This might take days or even weeks to coordinate and wait for all of the truckers to get back into their vehicles and start moving them along.

Probably going to end with them being towed out.

Yeah but even that would take a long time to coordinate and carry out, possibly even longer than the truckers moving the trucks themselves. Doesn't help that last I heard the towing companies aren't helping the Canadian government tow these vehicles.

They'll probably be low or out of gas. Running the generator and all that for a week will have them empty. Fuel efficiency on even modern diesel trucks is terrible.

Oh are they running their vehicles this whole time? I thought they were just parking them there and chilling somewhere else.

I was going off the assumption they were chilling in their sleeper cabs and shit. Maybe not.

For the most part they were living out of their cabs in order to prevent them from being towed on the basis of being an unoccupied vehicle obstructing a roadway. Given how frigid it is overnight in Ontario they had been running their engines for warmth which was going fine until police began cutting off their fuel deliveries.
