Trump is refusing to support a Republican candidate for Ohio state Senate because the candidate's father and brother changed the name of the Cleveland's baseball team from Indians to Guardians.
In a statement released by Trump’s Save America PAC, the former president points out Doran’s family decision to rename the Cleveland Indians as a reason for not supporting the Chaglin Falls Republican Party in the US Senate.
“People who change the name of the once renowned Cleveland Indians to the Cleveland Guardians shouldn’t run for the US Senate on behalf of the great people in Ohio,” Trump wrote. “The Atlanta Braves didn’t change their name, Florida State Seminor didn’t change their chant, but Cleveland did, and they were there first.
