Thread: Union proves they care more about supporting Democrats than their workers

Default Union proves they care more about supporting Democrats than their workers

You can't even make this shit up anymore.

Coal miners' union urges Manchin to reconsider opposition to Biden plan

Yes that's right. A union that supposedly represents coal miners in WV is urging Manchin to support the BBB, a bill that tries its best to put coal miners and other people in the "dirty" energy sector out of business.

So much for unions supporting their members.

Oh don't worry, they give a bunch of bullshit reasons for supporting the BBB bill such as this gem:

The labor union noted that the bill includes an extension of a fund that provides benefits to coal miners suffering from black lung disease, which expires at the end of the year.
So rather than being pissed that the Democrats would shove such a provision in a massive 3.5+ trillion dollar spending bill (before Manchin got it cut in half, and the true cost is even higher than 3.5+ trillion anyways) and demanding they have a separate bill that would just fund this benefit, they instead demand Manchin support the BBB that would lead to more WV coal miners losing their jobs.

    There's also this laugh:

The UMWA also touted tax incentives that encourage manufacturers to build facilities in coalfields that would employ thousands of miners who lost their jobs.
Oh okay, "encourages" manufacturers to build facilities near coalfields that would employ miners that lost their good paying jobs because of Democrat bills exactly like the BBB.

Most union leaders don't give a single shit about the people they claim to represent, they just care about getting Democrats elected.

    Default

Manchin is just using BBB to push his weight around and to get some press time.

He will do what he always does: Get something for his vote and vote right along with the Progressives.

You're criticizing the coal union's support of provisions which would protect or provide treatment to their industry and workers? I really don't think that you understand how unions work if you think that they're doing something wrong.
