First they defended the murderer governor of NY because they hated Trump so much and they defend Fauci so much that he gets a lot of air time to inflate his already huge ego to the point where he says he is science. Maybe in a year or two Democrats will finally fully pull their heads out of their asses and Fauci will be facing prison time too like he deserves.

Context matters. Here's what he said before that quote:

“If they get up and criticize science, nobody's going to know what they're talking about. But if they get up and really aim their bullets at Tony Fauci — people could recognize there's a person there.”

He's saying that they want to criticize science but can't, so they target him instead. This isn't some Star-Wars-ian I AM THE SENATE moment, and if you'd posted the full context that would be VERY evident.
