McConnell made an incredibly savvy move today in offering a temporary extension to the national debt limit. While Progressive, Moderate and Republicans posing as Democrats from Arizona and West Virginia squabbled over reconciliation, McConnell succinctly created a fight over debt, then proposed a solution.

By doing so, it highlighted just how stupidly unorganized the Democrats are and portrayed Senate Republicans as the only ones to get things done. It was a total political stunt, but a damned well played one.
