Fact is, most of it isn't earned. At max benefit, it only takes a few years to get paid back all you paid into for Social Security. Past that it is an entitlement just like any other. The same with Medicare. There is no fund, there is no interest, it's all a Ponzi scheme and if the government wasn't going it, it would be illegal.

You realize that the definition you cite doesn't have one bit to do with what is classed as an entitlement from the government. It is labeled that because people who collect it are "entitled" to it because of law, not because they paid anything in or even at all. Any other idiotic semantic arguments you want to make?

In the next few years, we will likely find out as their economy collapses and they try and use that as a way to keep the house of cards afloat. Which is why we should not cut military spending since there will be a war most likely with some kind of trigger like Hong Kong or Taiwan invasion or something stupid like that.

The alternate solution is what Democrats did in the 70s to pay off the Vietnam War and line the pockets of all their military donors and that was massive inflation since inflation makes loaned money worthless. It would also help alleviate the "Student Loan Crisis" and so on. Unfortunately just like in the 70s it decimates the poor and elderly. I imagine somewhere, someone was hoping Covid would kill off more in those two brackets since they consume the majority of Federal spending. I don't know if it was planned but I am sure someone has thought about it.

Why do you think China's economy will collapse?

Lol? China owns only 4% of our national debt. Next, China needs US treasury bonds more than the US needs to sell them to China.

China can’t do anything except stop buying or doing a massive sell off, and both would have major consequences on their own economy.

Edited: Also, China buys debt to help itself, not to help America. Here’s a great article explaining why.

I'm sorry you don't know what entitlement means.

An educated, safe, clean society comes at a cost. A part of that cost is taking care of the poor and downtrodden. Mostly because it's fucking gross walking by homeless people when you're wanting to take the kids out for ice cream.

The only thing that's going to save our economy, besides making bombs, is an infrastructure renewal program using US sourced resources. We know this works because we have the work done by programs such as the corps of engineering to show for it.

We can literally have nicer things for building less bombs.

Because we are going to have a crash, without us buying their shit, something like 15+ percent of their economy collapses. That doesn't take into account any other western economic woes nor us defaulting on debt and ceasing interest payments as well as halting banking and so on to them. Is there an economy on the planet that can withstand that much shrink at once? Ours nearly collapsed when it happened to us and we had a lot less people to feed than we do now and they have insane amounts more people. India is in nearly the same boat.

And because like Japan, they have a growing segment of young population that doesn't want to work like their parents did.

We can have a lot more nicer things if we stop paying poor people to not be poor since it doesn't work. We have literally been doing the same thing since the 60 and it doesn't work and yet here you and others are wanting to do it more. It's like the stupid argument that real socialism hasn't been tried. Well, we have tried it, we have bankrupted our country doing it and you argue not to stop doing it.

I personally like having a lot more nicer things.
