It's 12 members, 4 Republicans, 4 Democrats, and 4 Independent. I don't see anything in there that makes it blatantly one sided, both sides got a little something and lost a little something.

Here let me help you out:
8 total districts
4 are safe for Democrats
3 are safe for Republicans
1 is a so called "swing" district which voted almost 2% in Democrats' favor in last election
2% is fucking huge in most elections, even in elections where one candidate is considered to be "safe" they sometimes barely win by 2 points.
So they are eliminating a current Republican House seat which is a safe Republican House seat and merging the district into the solidly blue district, most likely turning the state into a 5-3 Democrat majority.
Oh yes, this is perfectly balanced and "bipartisan"!
What's really funny is the original proposed map "favored" Republicans slightly by most likely turning the state into a 4-4, you know an even split. Democrats raged hell and demanded a change and they got it! And they STILL want more! Apparently "fair" in Democrat land is 7-1 in Democrats favor.

Right, because there is no way an "Independent" couldn't really be a Democrat, as evidenced by an eight district state being divided up into 5 Democrat seats and 3 Republican seats. Remember drauz himself laughably claims to be an independent and yet he's more far left then even some of the Democrats on the forum.
