No surprises that the Special Immigrant Visa process being used in Afghanistan is an absolute shit show and the cause of so much turmoil at the Kabul airport. Thousands of ineligible Afghan nationals showed up with screenshots of tentative applications belonging to others in an attempt to flee the country. Absolutely support US Marine Corps clearing out the airport and putting in place a better screening process to keep the airfield secure and orderly.
Humanitarian crises's such as these are unfortunately tragic, but unfortunately not the universal responsibility of the US State Department and US Armed Forces to resolve.
An Afghan soldier (you know those people Biden slandered and said they all gave up without a fight) was killed in a shootout while defending the airport so people from other countries could flee.
