Meh, exterminated, genocide, either way the GS community needs an enema.

I love how two months ago, Trump said this:
“I started the process, all the troops are coming home, they (Biden) couldn’t stop the process. 21 years is enough. They (Biden) couldn’t stop the process, they (Biden) wanted to but couldn’t stop the process.”

Looks like Trump is claiming full credit for the withdraw.

Looks like one of the largest veterans group supports Biden’s withdraw.

“We the undersigned are resolute in our support of President Biden’s decision to end the war in Afghanistan," the letter read. "There is no clean way to exit another country’s civil war, especially as one government falls and another takes power. The images out of Afghanistan are heartbreaking, especially for those of us who served there."

"Let us be very clear — the people who got us into this mess have absolutely no right to say a word about how we get out of it. President Biden made a very tough call, knowing that this withdrawal would not be pretty, or flawless. He is cleaning up the terrible situation that the aforementioned people created, and he is dealing with a terrible agreement struck by the previous administration and the Taliban," the group wrote. "Our support for the President’s decision to leave is as resolute as ever. It is the right thing to do, no matter how many people in the chattering class want to claim otherwise."

The US embassy is now advising citizens to NOT travel to the airport unless they receive individual instructions because it’s unsafe. Meanwhile the US military still refuses to send troops into the city to evacuate US citizens. So I guess if you're a US citizen trapped in Afghanistan and you don't receive "special instructions" from the US embassy you're just fucked.

This would be funny if this were a sitcom, but sadly this is reality under a Biden presidency.

The Defense Secretary told lawmakers that US citizens on their way to the airport have been beaten by Taliban terrorists at checkpoints. So much for Solkern's lie that "The Taliban are letting US citizens get to the airport with no trouble at all!"

It was never about withdrawing, it was about how it was executed.

Your first point: Obama and Biden had 8 years to try and end it. They couldn't. Trump took office and started to end it, against the establishment who wanted to keep it going. Biden came in, and just went along with it.

Your second point: That is a progressive Veteran's organization and they can endorse/have any viewpoint they want. There are plenty of others who have a different opinion.

The abject failure of this administration is in the EXECUTION... not the decision to do it.

Example: Clips (look them up for yourself) of this Administration talking about how it will be calm, etc... how the Embassy and all those wonderful State Department personnel will keep doing the work to ensure aid, relief, and humanitarian efforts blah blah blah will continue... it was a pipe dream, but they really believed that. They think Twitter, memorandums, and "pleading for mercy" are effective measures to affect foreign policy. It's nuts, and this is the result.

One US citizen who was beaten at a checkpoint reported that it is impossible to get to the airport. She said that between her and the airport, there are approximately 20 Taliban checkpoints.

US troops are almost certainly going to have to go back to save American lives. I suppose we can try to talk to the Taliban leadership first, but pardon me for not being hopeful at a good outcome. But whatever we do we have to do it soon. Biden is paid to make decisions, now is the time to make one.

Whatever decision is made it will be a disaster.

I wonder how many IED's have been put in place over the past week with a freshly armed and updated Taliban force?

I know where I love to take vacations. Anywhere there's an active war going on. Now save me, never could have expected a shift in the war.... Personal responsibility be damned
