It's more like for the longest time sex and gender did indeed mean the same thing but at some point some guy was like "LOL! They are totally different!" And people ignored him for decades until relatively recently.

You're really just fooling yourself if you think anyone saying there are more than two genders are gonna be totally fine if someone were to say "Okay, fine, there are more than two genders, but when it comes to sex there is just male and female."

I blame Rachel Dolezal. After she pulled the wool over the NAACP's eyes, everyone decided that they could identify as literally anything they could think of after that.

What’s really sad, these expansions on the words gender and sex, has nothing to do with you, and going more in-depth on defining these words really changes nothing, but makes people feel better about themselves so they can better self-define themselves. But since YOU don’t agree with it, it’s all of a sudden a big fucking deal and the world is going to end! Who the fuck really cares? Does it really matter THAT MUCH TO YOU?

Also you do realize the current definition of gender was first introduced in the 1950’s? It became widespread in the 70’s, and in the early 90’s the government started to adopt the differences. In the early 2010’s the FDA also classified sex as a person’s biological classification and gender as a person’s self representation. Why weren’t you bitching and crying about this before?
Obviously the concept isn’t new, it’s been around for a long time.

Had to delete my previous post. Want to do a bit more detailed response and my answer changed.

Can you identify as a different race? Yes you can. Race isn’t biological, but a social construct. Race is about how you look, not really what your DNA is. This is why changing your race is possible, we can’t see another persons DNA. When someone walks down the street, we never say, “look at that girls recessive MC1R gene, she could have ginger babies.” NO!
It's worth noting that race doesn't really exist; it's a man-made label. Sex (male or female) exists, obviously, but race really doesn't. For example, professional anthropologists reject the concept of race.
A professor at the University of Washington with a Ph.D discovered that most genetic differences are individual variations and not racial. “Race…is not a biological concept,” he said himself. Read “Everyone is African" by Daniel Fairbanks and “The Myth of Race" by Robert Wald Sussman.

If you mentioned ethnicity and not race I would agree with you, you can’t change your ethnicity.
I consider ethnicity and sex as the same, and race and gender as the same in your argument.

Regarding your second point. No, I think you should go by your identified sex at birth not what you identify your gender as.

Question for you Methais, I’m half-Asian and half-white, so what race am I? Can I flip between the two every other day? Who decides which race I am? Myself or other people? What happens if my grandfather or great grandfather is black? Can I also be black as well? What happens if my father is half-black and half-white, and my mother is half-Asian and half-Hispanic/Latino, am I all four races?
