Not really. Mullis was batshit insane, denied that HIV causes AIDS (Spoiler Alert: he wasn't a doctor), made up a whole lot of shit about climate science, was a strong support of Astrology, hallucinogens, etc. The fact that he conceptualized PCR testing (which was then developed and expounded upon for decades after he stopped being relevant) doesn't confer magic knowledge on him.
