Terrorists break into US Capitol Building

Actually the DC major made a request to DoD yesterday to deploy the national guard, and Trump wouldn't approve it.


So he called tens of thousands of angry people to the Capitol, intentionally left the Capitol grossly under protected, then held a rally for a "Save America" march where he repeatedly told them that their country was being stolen from them/ he was never going to give up/etc and where Giuliani literally told them today would be "trial by combat", then encouraged a bunch of people who included several armed extremist militias to head to the capitol, and told them that the proceedings there were their last chance to save his Presidency and keep the country from falling into chaos.

He orchestrated every damn part of this.

I've been saying in the weeks leading up to this that I expect the DC Mayor was having daily meetings with JTTF teams and prepping all kinds of plans for this. I guess I was wrong. This can't have been plan A. Can it?

Maybe the police and national guard did not expect the mainly peaceful protesters to try to storm the Capitol? Did anyone expect something so brazen over the lie that the election was stolen?

At this point I don't think its a stretch of the imagination that someone somewhere ordered the national guard presence to be lighter than it should have been because these were white Trump supporters. The response today was in no way near as aggressive as when BLM protesters were in DC over the summer.

As a point of clarity, the Capital Police is a federal police force, and isn't the same as the DC police. Obviously they coordinate together, but the Capital Police is a sizeable police force of its own, and weren't prepared. Arguably neither was prepared, and it's hard to imagine how they couldn't see this coming.
