Wait, Grandfathered is non-inclusive?
I thought this was a joke when I first read it but as usual life is getting stranger than fiction lately.
Source: NBA, union agree to list of social messages that can be put on jerseys
Yes that's right, NBA players can choose any of the above messages to be on their jerseys above their number. The list of the suggested social messages that were agreed upon by the NBPA and the NBA and then made available to players via email, per the source, are: Black Lives Matter; Say Their Names; Vote; I Can't Breathe; Justice; Peace; Equality; Freedom; Enough; Power to the People; Justice Now; Say Her Name; Sí Se Puede (Yes We Can); Liberation; See Us; Hear Us; Respect Us; Love Us; Listen; Listen to Us; Stand Up; Ally; Anti-Racist; I Am A Man; Speak Up; How Many More; Group Economics; Education Reform; and Mentor.
Remember a few months ago when Hong Kongers were desperately trying to fight against China in a bid to keep their democracy and China told the NBA to shut the fuck up and knuckle under and not say a word about the protests and the players all fell in line and wouldn't speak about it and the one coach who posted a tweet in support of the protesters was forced to apologize after pressure from China? Remember how no one in the NBA would comment on forced education camps for the Chinese Muslim minority where the Chinese were literally harvesting organs from Muslims against their will? Remember how no one in the NBA would speak up against China cracking down on protesters in Hong Kong? Remember how no one in the NBA would comment on near slave wages in Chinese factories and the myriad other human rights abuses that goes on in China?
Yeah, fast forward a few months later and now the fuckers are literally going to be displaying political messages aimed against the US on their jerseys. Fuck the NBA. Bunch of spoiled, rich, hypocritical douche bags.

I do find it interesting that the flag used to represent all of the above ideals, and we as a Nation sought to achieve those standards of decency and respect for one another. From my perspective, I always saw the flag as a symbol of what we ASPIRE to be, not what we were. A symbol to express the hope of what we as a Nation wish to achieve - with the understanding that humans are fallible and it won't be easy, but at least it provides a unifying dream.
For all the faults of the US, the difficult history and sacrifices that so many of all backgrounds made - it is the IDEAL of advancing as ONE people that we all strive for. It's not easy to achieve the goals we as a Nation have set for ourselves, but I thought we were making progress.
Perhaps my mode of thinking is outdated, perhaps I still believe in human decency to much, perhaps I believe in the collective goal of achieving what those ideals stand for and it's no longer the case.
Who knows at this point.

Hong Kong security law: Pro-democracy books pulled from libraries
Makes me think of all the cancel culture SJWs here in America trying to erase the past. We are so close to the above it's ridiculous.
