Yeah I hope all those cell phone videos of people rioting help to identify as many as possible. All the rioters need to be at the very least fined and IMO best case jailed for federal crimes. I'm very fine with people protesting peacefully; when you destroy people's lives, livelihood and property is where I want them to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Nothing good comes from riots.

And kidding aside, I'd be bothered by free gas myself. But I also am heavily armed and proficiently trained in the use of those firearms, so I feel pretty good about defending my shit. What scares me is if I'm not at home when it happens.

I pretty much agree on most of what you're saying here. It's scary when people drive into town without plates and start stashing gasoline around neighborhoods. No amount of guns are going to stop my house from burning if someone really wants it to burn, and they'd probably be long gone before I realized there was a fire. So it's all scary shit.

On a personal note, I'll add that one of my friends had his restaurant burned to the ground by rioters, and that really sucks. The day beforehand he was feeding protesters for free, and allowed his community room to be used for people who needed help. If you know anything about the restaurant industry, you know they're all under-insured. And the city will hold a quarter of his insurance payment in escrow to guarantee it gets repairedor demo'd, which makes it even worse. Remember the video of umbrella guy at the Autozone? That was just a couple of blocks from his restaurant. For him the only good news is that he has huge support from the community. We'll figure out how to get him back up and running. I'll be talking to him soon about what he should do next.
