How do the reactive flares work? Are you talking cman, if you're attacked, or if you're hit?

Just usual armor flares! If you're struck, it'll flare back at the attacker. While I wouldn't depend on it for damage, that fire stunning the creature and giving me time to recover has saved my ass more than I would've wagered it would prior to owning the armor.

Yup. You can, however, use simustore potions to freeze the self knowledge from degrading charges.
I have never done this; my suspicion is that the armor has a very, very high number of charges as it originated at a grand auction a long time ago. I have never seen anything but the highest read on them (which is 75+ charges) and cannot advertise it beyond that, but whatever the actual number of charges, it is very high.
