How is this helpful for the ones already in the country? You have to do something to stop them from coming over to work. Punish businesses that profit from their labor. If businesses weren't hiring them, they'd have no reason to come looking for work.

As far as the wall itself, it really should be a state issue. The highest burden of cost with illegal immigration is to the local and state levels. Let them pay for it if they need it.

Democrats in California passed a new law restricting water use to 55 gallons per person per day or be fined 1,000 dollars and within a decade they want this to be 50 gallons per person per day.

Just some small everyday actions people use water for everyday:

About 2 gallons to flush the toilet.
About 10-15 gallons to take a 5 minute shower.
About 1 gallon every time you wash your hands.
About 20 gallons for every load of laundry you use if you use a modern washer, about 40 gallons if you use an older washer.

Not to mention other things like watering your plants, garden, or lawn, doing dishes, upkeep for your fish tank, giving your pets water.

California is such a fucking mess.

A typical modern faucet with an aerator uses about 1.5 gallons per minute, the recommended length of time to wash your hands is 20 seconds, so I exaggerated slightly, half a gallon of water instead of 1

Washing your hands or face with the water running uses about 4 gallons. Turning the water off saves 3 gallons, using only 1 gallon each time you wash up. Washing dishes with the water running uses about 15 gallons in 5 minutes.

It's not a rich vs poor thing though the rich use a ton more on their golf courses and pools. They will definitely feel the fine since it's on a sliding scale up to 10k a day during a dry year.

I remember seeing a CA reporter during one of the previous droughts going to a McMansion with a lush lawns and the homeowner telling them to fuck off since they could afford the overuse fees and the city can't do anything. Looks like that's changing.
