Great time to make fun of someone.

Horrible. Just horrible. Would you say that's better or worse than making fun of someone who was killed by a tornado or lost everything they owned in a tornado? TheE was graduating from law school during the recession.

That generation of lawyers is known as the lost generation because there were very few jobs and most of them found careers in professions other than law.

Contrary to PB's allegation, I never made fun of TheE for not finding employment.

I was at the front of that generation and was one of the lucky ones to find (and keep) their job.

I definitely have survivors guilt to this day.

But PB is the asshole that just made fun of TheE, who was six figures in debt and completely uncertain about his future. Great time to make fun of someone.

That was about the time I made fun of PB for being a 40+ year old that spent his free time playing video games and hoped his daughters didn't become strippers because of the emotional baggage of having a dad that would prefer playing World of Warcraft to hanging out with them.

He was actively seeking employment, like most of his fellow classmates, when you were making fun of him. I'm glad you feel bad about that now. You should reach out to Alok and ask for his forgiveness.

That was over a decade ago. Since then I've had children of my own. I'd like to apologize to you for the things I said, but I'm struck by how defensive and reactive you were. If someone were to say about my daughter the things I said about yours, I'd laugh because I have the confidence in the time and effort I've put into being a parent to know that I'll never have regrets about the time I could have, but didn't, spend with my children. With the capacity now for empathy, I feel like maybe you don't have that same confidence and for that I'm sorry.

Maybe you should rephrase your "Golden Motto" of being an asshole to 1) people who are mean to you and 2) People who you don't like because of their politics or skin color. No one with an IQ over say 67 believes your holier than thou bullshit.
