The robbers are going from room to room, looking for valuables. They just left the living room area and are heading down the hallway towards your room.

I make sure they know I'm there, since surprises are the cause of a lot of accidental shootings. Then, if they want to shoot me, I try and convince them that robbery is not as bad as felony murder or felony a&b. If they seem adverse to such advice, I leave.

Of course, irrelevant, as I would probably have left long before they approached the room where I'm supposedly hiding.

TheE also struck me as someone who donates a lot to charity, unlike a certain member of this forum who lives in San Fransisco who just begs for the government to increase how much she pays in taxes.

I do not want any natural disasters to occur.

But if they do occur (and they have been occurring a lot more frequently over the last decade, weird), I'd like them to impact people who selfishly (or ignorantly) ignore our impact on the environment.

The problem with climate change is that no one directly bears the cost of climate change and so lots of people want to pretend they can get away with not paying for it. But that's inherently selfish (remember, I'm fine being an asshole TO assholes) and short sighted. It's a classic economic externality. If you'll remember back to like 2006 or 2007, I had a thread on here where I supported a carbon tax as a way to deal with the externality of climate change. I think I even suggested geoengineering as a utilitarian middle ground since we know we'll eventually need to eek out a few thousand extra years on Earth as the sun expands before it consumes us. I really supported geoengineering as a way to deal with the immediate thread of climate change, but selling it to mouth breathers as a solution to stave off eventually being swallowed by the sun was a hail mary.

That is a rather child like mentality to have.

TheE was graduating from law school during the recession.

That generation of lawyers is known as the lost generation because there were very few jobs and most of them found careers in professions other than law.

Contrary to PB's allegation, I never made fun of TheE for not finding employment.

I was at the front of that generation and was one of the lucky ones to find (and keep) their job.

I definitely have survivors guilt to this day.

But PB is the asshole that just made fun of TheE, who was six figures in debt and completely uncertain about his future. Great time to make fun of someone.

That was about the time I made fun of PB for being a 40+ year old that spent his free time playing video games and hoped his daughters didn't become strippers because of the emotional baggage of having a dad that would prefer playing World of Warcraft to hanging out with them.

He got super butt hurt about it. But never felt bad for making fun of TheE.
