I get what you are saying. Of course it should be treated as something more than assault. This is also an unwanted action.
When all is said and done I believe it is the mother who has the rights over the fetus. Other people should have no say in the matter. End of story.
If you believe abortion is murder, shouldn't the doctor performing the abortion and the mother who gave permission for it both be charged with murder and both get the death penalty? Oh, and any staff members of the doctor and family members of the mother be accessories?
