Clinton was busted for lying, not obstruction, but I think your point still stands. He got seriously lucky. Fucking around with an intern... if she had turned on him he would have been in very serious trouble.

As for the Senate, they won't decide based on facts, it will be all politics when the time comes, with a handful of good people who still have a conscience fitting in the mix somehow.

I think Gelston's point is that Clinton was impeached but not removed from office or jailed.

Exactly what I said, he will never be convicted by a Republican Senate. I think it would be stupid for the House to Impeach without a guaranteed conviction from the Senate, which I why I also don't think that will happen.

Trump isn't going to be removed from office by Congress, end of story.

I think they know impeachment of a sitting president without GOP support is a non-starter. .

I think you are giving them far too much credit for intelligence and common sense.

If the report comes out with a clear case of obstruction, they have no choice. They can't let a sitting President off the hook after something like that. It sets a dangerous precedent for the future.

And if the report comes out with a clear case of collusion- which is very likely by the way- they likewise have no choice. They can't set the precedent that it's okay to work with foreign adversaries to corrupt our elections.

Someone has to play the part of the adult in this bizarre tale.

Harris, who was the unofficial winner of the 9th District election in November, made the announcement just days after a four-day hearing into alleged election fraud held by the North Carolina State Board of Elections.


The hearing ended abruptly during Harris’ testimony when he took the stand and read a statement that he had testified incorrectly under oath and called for a new election in the 9th District. NCSBE members voted to hold a new election within hours of that statement.
