Most of their internet revenue, and probably most of theirn revenue total, is based on clicking their articles for ad revenue. Every news site makes click bait headlines. I don't see it as a stretch.

Where the fuck do you think internet based sites get their revenue? They don't sell products. Sure, some sell subscriptions, but it isn't a huge thing. Content gating is rare for news. It isn't any different than a news channel on TV with ads, except, you know, online with ads.
