That's exactly how libel laws work. You have to prove damages. What damages did you suffer as a result of anonymous people saying mean things towards your anonymous screen name on an obscure forum that has maybe 100 unique people who actually read it on a regular basis, of which almost none of those people even know what your first name is?
Unless, of course, you're saying the damages you received was to your reputation right here on the PC itself? In which case I would love to see the lawyer who takes up such a case or the judge who allows such a trial to go through.
