It doesn't mean someone can walk in the middle of the road whenever they want, much less hundreds of people at a time clogging the street and impeding traffic.

The car hit a crowd of people walking through an intersetion, and that's actually exactly what it means, fella. Unless the car is already moving through the intersection and you step out in front of it, yes, cars are legally required to wait for pedestrians to move through the intersection. The law doesn't state how many are allowed to move through the intersection at once.

I'm curious how/why you think protesting in the streets without a permit is law abiding though. Nothing can justify the dude in the car running these people over of course, but this chick was in the wrong place at the wrong time and that's pretty much it, and that won't change no matter how much emotional stuff you copy & paste from some blog or whatever.

That chick, Heather Heyer, was peacefully protesting an Alt-Right white supremacist Nazi KKK sympathizing hate group rally. As an American citizen she is protected by the Constitution to peacefully assemble. The rules of the road say that pedestrians had the right of way in her situation. Heather was someone who wanted peace and a better world. A lunatic snapped, decided to kill people, and Heather who was peacefully protesting against hate was murdered in the process.

You know who else rams cars in to crowds? Seen the news out of Europe in the past few years? People with an ideology that justifies their intent on killing as many people as they can.

We get it, you're a communist fucktard that wants to use this event to gain sympathy for your murderous ideology. I mean you guys already tried to assassinate elected officials, burnt up neighborhoods and caused massive property damage.
