An Uncle of mine was beaten with a bat and left for dead. He was unable to recover from the injuries to his head and after entering a vegetative state, was taken off life support.

I wasn't close, at all, to this guy. Still, sucks that he went out like that.

From what I gathered, he went to collect money from someone. When they got there, the person was in the shower so the guy that went there with my uncle decided to step out and get some beers. When he came back, he found my uncle in a pool of blood. Instead of calling the cops, the guy drove my uncle to his ex-wifes house and dropped him off.

It wouldn't make a difference had he drove him straight to the hospital. The person beat his head in pretty thoroughly.

He's from part of the family I didn't even know existed, due to some shitty, shady behavior. So it's sort of 'take at face value'.

Alright so, before anyone gets out the sympathy blankets. I just learned this dude was a giant fucking prick and he used to beat women.

So, I hope he fucking suffered. I sincerely hope that he fucking choked to death on his own brain.

I'm trying to figure out how anyone can be scammed by someone who can barely speak the English language...

They're targeting elders. This isn't a joke about how you're old, this is a statement that those people should all be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and we could do that if we had universal surveillance.

That sounds like a horrible reason for universal surveillance. Give up your last shred of privacy so you don't get scammed. I don't think there is anything you could say that would sway me to accept universal surveillance. It is to much power and people will misuse it.
