No. Apparently my grandmother, on her death bed, confessed to my mother that she wanted to pass the grimoire down to her but couldn't because my aunt got to it before hand. When my mother asked to see it, my aunt refused and said she hid it.
It's not from the Mexican or Navajo side of my family either.

According my mother, it spans generations. I have my theories but I don't know. I'm tempted to ask her about it but I don't know how she'll react.

Dude. Ask her. Ask her now before your aunt does something fucked up with the grimoire, like burn it and leave you questioning WTF went down the rest of your life. It's important family history. And someone recorded it. I'd be all over that!
She wouldn't burn it. I know that much for certain. Next time I go down to visit I gotta ask her. I don't want to use a text or facebook for something that important. It's just crazy to think my family has a goddamn grimoire.
