Well, except when that server/staff is legitimately being shitty. I'll usually just not eat there and leave when that is the case though. And still, even if you are a pain in the ass customer, doing shit to someone's food that could get them sick isn't an appropriate response.

Fallen - I agree that people that mouth off and are being pricks deserve it. And I also agree that people that screw with food deserve to be punished if caught. Can't have one side without the other.

Gelston - I agree that staff ought to be held responsible for their own attitudes. Sadly, if a staff member is being shitty, and a customer's being shitty, it gets all sorts of out of hand. That being said, in a food industry, the only thing that the staff has control over is the food. It isn't right, but people know it happens. And should have more respect.

All this sort of shit can be avoided if people were respectful, and not blatant asshats.

So, someone deserves to get sick, perhaps even deathly ill, because they say mean things to the poor, poor staff with thin skin. Okay.

I heard a guy call a waiter a faggot, for no reason other than he was a male waiting tables. It's all about thin skin though.

So he should have talked to his manager and asked to change tables or have the customer removed from the establishment. It still doesn't justify fucking with someone's health.

And yes, that is an example of thin skin if it made him pouty enough to commit a felony.

I've said all I'm gonna really say on the subject. I'm done for today.

Siiigh. I was going to type some huge thing, but deleted it. No point. As I said, Gel! It's not right, and the illness part is nowhere near the norm. Sort of like that baseball incident. It happens, but not anywhere near often. Mostly, people do little petty things that makes them feel better, and the customer knows nothing about it.

If someone got genuinely sick over a prank, it obviously went overboard, and the individuals should be held accountable.

Oh, and I've watched a gay guy waiting tables get called a fag. Not once, not twice, but every time he passed by a specific table. Do you know how thick those glass ketchup bottles are? I do. Thick enough to crack someone in the skull and it doesn't break, but you get to hear that nice, meaty, loud *THOCK* as their eyes glaze.

The waiter lost it, and he got fired, but damn sure the customer deserved it. I didn't stick around to see if police got involved. But someone outing you as someone who hates gays? In California? Damn, that's just not cricket.

I bet that happens about as often as someone thinks rotflares are worth 50mil. Not unicorn rare, but pretty darn rare.

No, it isn't the norm. The chance exists though and that is a chance that should not be taken.

I'm pretty sure it isn't rare or impossible to get a table switched off with another server.
