The problem is that you believe what people tell you about science. You believe that scientists once said there was global cooling, you believe that scientists once said the curveball was an optical illusion, you believe that scientists once said the earth was flat. These are good stories, but they are just stories, not truth.

The real issue is that all the original data for the last 40+ years up to a couple years ago was corrupted and then destroyed intentionally by that guy who origionally came up with the idea. Even the original collectors of the data don't have it in most cases so a massive amount of the research has to be redone and some of the observation data can never be recovered. All because this elitist prick wanted to trick the world into income redistribution because of his personal ideas on fairness.

So we don't really know what is going on and what is causing it.

Now I am not for shitting on our environment when we can prevent it though I am also not for destroying the economy of the western world based on a fuzzy feeling and because some idiots want to feel better than everyone else. If people really wanted to inspire better environmental behavior, then maybe stop fucking around with building high speed light rail in major cities and key routes, stop with punitive taxes that hurt the poor and instead try tax credits. Oh, and maybe consider allowing the construction of new power plants, refineries and so on because in many cases it is far more expensive to upgrade an old site than to make a new one and scrap the old one. OH, and maybe clean up the BS with the NRC so that once a power plant is under construction they don't get to change their mind and change the requirements and so on. Just a few things off the top of my head that would help a lot.

Like I said. It's a good story, made even better by your added flourishes (Phil Jones invented global warming!), but it's not true. The biggest problem with science is not that it's rife with rogues and scandal, but that it's not. It's boring, so people feel the need to jazz it up.

Studies show that it is more important to be right morally and ideologically than to be right factually and empirically.

Please feel free to tell me how I think and feel some more. I need to know how I feel about eating pizza vs spagetti and should I order the light blue or navy polo shirt?

Considering that Latrin does not care about the facts, it very well may be.
