Like any (most?) pressurized gas if the tank heats up enough the tank itself can explode but it's not like a fireball explosion that causes a fire.
Yeah, I edited my post because I remembered oxygen isn't actually flammable. What probably happened is that either guys tank was leaking or there was just a lot of excess oxygen floating around, and his cigarette lit something else on fire which then quickly spread.

It's about time to fly to Kansas again, and drive my dad and his wife back to Florida. What made me frown was my dad's idiot wife asking me if I was sure I wanted to fly, "because all the planes have ebola now." I had to conduct a science class for her, but I'm still half expecting she'll show up at the airport wearing a disposable dust mask.
