Just make sure it remains a functioning mailbox, and not a lure to entice young vandals to harm themselves.
Of course if someone accidentally hits it and this mailbox of death goes through their window and kills someone, you're going to be in a world of hurt.
They sell Tuff Body steel boxes for like $80, or those ugly plastic ones for about the same price. There are also options for swinging posts, that help absorb the impact from plows as well. Don't be that crazy old man warring against the kids.
That depends. If it goes flying off and kills someone, yet they caused it, it is just as likely to be their fault as yours. I'd think it'd be just as safe, as far as the mailbox flying, as any other mailbox. Maybe even safer.
Just get the mailbox that has bricks built around it....

It's early, I meant to add this link.
Had to put the younger dog in an e-collar. He's developed a sore on his front leg that he won't leave alone and let heal.
We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men. Edward R. Murrow
Aww, the cone of shame! My pup has been working on a spot on her back leg intermittently when she gets stressed, but I haven't ever had success with previous dogs staying in the cone for surgeries, so I hadn't considered it an option.
