So my dad "bought" a car from me back in May that he told me he'd pay for once he sells his other car. He's not made much of an attempt to sell his other car (he says it is on craigslist, but there is no ad on craigslist for his car).

He did some work on my rental house and sent me an email with an itemized list of the costs + his labor. He just called to make sure I was sending him the check.

I am dumbfounded.

Yeah, this is why the never sell anything to family rule exists. I'd rather just give something to family than to be disappointed if they choose not to pay me. Then of course if the car has some flukey break down you have to hear about that as well. Bummer.

Maybe remind him to re-list his car on Craigslist. Maybe he posted long ago and doesn't realize people don't read month old ads.
