I always wondered; what did people in the past say/do when a month was the "hottest month in the history of recorded temperatures" before Global Warming was a thing?

You're right, that is laughable. And it totally disproves that whole Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities, and most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position thing.

To discount solar energy just because your house faces a certain way seems silly to me. There must be feasible options for homes facing any direction.

I discount solar energy, because I'm an uncaring SOB that wants to live in comfort and pay rock bottom prices to do so. I pay cheap labor to do my yard work, I leave all of my lights on and run the AC all day, I wash my car every day, I'll flush my toilet 4 times after I use it - just to make sure it's all down there, I do not donate to any organizations like PETA or Greenpeace, I drive a 3 ton truck that gets 6 miles to the gallon, I own a coal mine, a shoe factory in Honduras (where those kids know how to work, whereas kids in America are all fat lazy bastards), I walk past poor people with a cup out on the street and laugh while I do, I throw out half eaten meals in the trash just because I can afford it and I don't like when it gets a little cold...... etc., etc., etc.

Now is that silly?
