I disagree. The patent thing means nothing. They've been trying to change the name redskins since the 80's.

Daniel Snyder and the redskins have serious issues when the other owners of nfl teams come out against him. That hasn't happened yet and likely will never happen.

The redskins will continue to sell out their games and sell merchandise. People will continue to watch the games. It is inevitable.

You missed the point in my statement that said on the level of the Washington redskins. They're one of the great franchises of the nfl. Those teams you mentioned are dogshit teams. With the redskins winning legacy and the fact that they're one of the most profitable teams in sports, you cannot blame the owner for not wanting to change the name.

You're missing the deeper meaning. Minorities are telling a white person what to do, and certain people can't handle that. We could, I suppose, get into a long discussion of how many or what percentage of people need to be offended before a remark is defined as a slur. However the DC football team has had its name for a long time, and I find it somewhat unconvincing that the name is now a major problem. Having said that, it is obviously not my opinion that should decide the issue.

If the team needs to change its name, then I propose that the cost of the change be divided throughout every team in the NFL, and each team can figure out how to come up with the funds.
