Be real, man...how dumb were you when you were 18? Not saying EVERYONE is likely to follow what some idiot on TV says, but...the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. We can go back to ancient Rome and find evidence of the Plebs making poor decisions based on propaganda, one way or the other. It just so happens that self-described Liberals in Hollywood make up the vast majority of "People using their stardom to influence voting".

Conservatism, on a Federal level, is perhaps "darker and less pleasant"...because it requires personal responsibility. The Plebs don't want to be bothered with such things...they wanted to be handed their comfort.

Some things no Liberal has ever been able to answer...maybe you can?

    1) If you taxed everyone in America 100%, no loopholes, you still couldn't pay off the Debt....

    2) Name one poor person who has ever given someone else a job.

That's it. Let's start simple. Those two things, and we'll work from there.
I was simply explaining, without trolling, why I think conservatives aren't doing as well in Hollywood as they were under Reagan. I would love to hear your opinion if you have a different one that isn't "OMG it is a liberal conspiracy which stops conservatives from being successful in Hollywood!" (Which is a conservative talking point.)

    For your unrelated rhetorical questions.

    1. If you remove corporate taxes, remove capital gains, and calculate personal income taxes wrong maybe you could be right. I'm sure you'd like no capital gains and no corporate taxes.

    2. Poor people create jobs every day. I know you don't want the government to employee anybody except policemen, firemen, and soldiers. Guess who helps create those jobs? It isn't just the government though. What is Walmart built on? What is your former job dealing drugs built on?

I'm not totally sure what your questions are, but here goes:

    1. Debt is not empirically correlated with American economic success or stability, either in absolute terms or as a fraction of GDP.

    2. Ew, poor people? Why would I ever learn their names? I assume you're suggesting that disproportionately taxing the rich leads to less jobs, but this is empirically not the case. Like min wage increases and unemployment, the correlation just isn't there. I don't know why this is, I suppose it could be because poor people actually do give other people jobs.

America, stop pushing. I know what I'm doing.

Do you have any (non-existent) examples to share?

Like I said, I don't know. To even start empirical investigation we would need Thondalar to quantify what he means by "poor people" and he's not going to, so that ends that. All I know empirically is that disproportionately taxing the rich doesn't lead to less jobs. People who point fingers at what we have today seem to forget just how progressive our tax system used to be.

As I was reading all this "Liberal Hollywood elite" stuff it occurred to me that there not being as many popular conservatives isn't so much a Hollywood problem as it is a conservative problem. If what passes for conservative these days was more popular then there would be more of a balance.

This would be a great argument if it weren't for a few facts. I'm sorry you hate facts so much

47% of Americans identify as Democratic or lean towards Democratic.
41% of Americans identify as Republican or lean towards Republican.

    Republicans control the federal House.

Just 6 years ago we had a Republican in the White House.
Just 6 years prior to that Republicans controlled the entire federal government.

There are currently 29 Republican governors (more than half!)

There are currently 27 states where Republicans control the entire state legislature, only 17 states where Democrats control the entire state legislature and 6 states are split.

If anything I have just proven that Hollywood is full of a bunch of bleeding heart liberals who love to pretend they are on the side of the "common man" so they keep spending money to watch their movies.

That does not prove anything. If anything you are perpetuating the silly idea that conservatives problems are not caused by conservatives themselves but caused by vaguely defined entities who are out to get them like "the Hollywood elite", the "gay mafia", "welfare queens", and every other label they decide to tag on someone they want to exclude from their party.

Wait, so all of my facts proved nothing yet your simple assertion that there aren't more Republicans in Hollywood because being a Republican just isn't popular these days based on...absolutely nothing at all proves you're right?
