I need a RESPECT FIST gif for Anticor to + him for being a rescuer. I can't green him for a while. Heh. And I have a dachshund. His name is Jaxon. He's in LA right now, being a seeing-eye dog for a blind pit bull who's got cancer and is near death. So this is sad for me! Ah well. Life sucks sometimes.

Currently have 4 rescues and we're keeping a 5th (he's a rat terrier though not a dach) while a family moves.

So for a few years now I've been neglecting a little sidewalk on my property; never cleaned it, let grass grow in the joints, sprinklers were hitting it for over a year before I realized just how hard the water is here. I thought all hope for this sidewalk looking good again was lost.

But then I bought some joint sealer, some cleaner, some acid etcher, some bonding stuff and some stain and went to work. I am quite pleased with the result.

I can hardly believe it's the same sidewalk.

Only thing I'm not sure of is if I should seal it as well. Everywhere I've been reading says if I used a semi-transparent stain I should seal it afterward but no one seems to recommend this if you use a solid stain...which is what I used. I'd hate for this to start fading and failing prematurely.

    Rat terriers are pretty cool.

You had better pay your guild dues before you forget. You are 113 months behind.

What sort of stain did you use? Depending on the type, there are a few do/don'ts to sealing it.

    Looks great though, well done!

    Behr solid concrete stain.

Some people are saying this product sucks and starts peeling after a few days/weeks but I'm hoping they just didn't follow the instructions well enough. People always seem to think they know more than the people making the product.

Did you try pressure washing it first?

Yup! Pressure washing got rid of almost all of the black/brown stains that were probably caused by mold or dirt. It made the rust stains slightly better...but not by a whole lot.

Honestly the sidewalk looked pretty gosh darn good just by cleaning it with a cleaning product but there were still some visible rust stains so I figured I'd stain the whole thing to have a more uniform look.
