    Good Job Barry.

JONATHAN KARL: Do you think Mitt Romney had a point when he said that Russia is America’s biggest geopolitical foe?

PRESIDENT OBAMA: With Respect to Mr. Romney’s assertion that Russia’s our number one geopolitical foe. The truth of the matter is that…America’s got a whole lot of challenges… Russia is a regional power that is threatening some of its immediate neighbors…not out of strength, but out of weakness. The fact that Russia felt compelled to go in militarily, and laid bare these violations of international law, indicates less influence not more…. Russia’s actions are a problem. They don’t pose the number one national security check to the United States…. I continue to be much more concerned, when it comes to our security, with the prospect of a nuclear weapon going off in Manhattan, which is part of the reason why the United State’s showing its continued international leadership has organized a forum over the last seven years, which has been able to eliminate that threat in a consistent way.

Anyone else think that Putin must have had a huge fucking grin on his face and have "Winner!!" rolling thru his head when he heard Obama call Russia a "regional power" and then say that he is going to cut the Military budget again?
    This space for sale.

Wow, so Obama just told Poland and the Baltics "You are on your own, not our problem".

Absolutely terrible handling of the question.

If Obama had responded saying that Russia is the #1 threat to international stability and pledged to enact financial sanctions on the entirety of Russia's banking sector, *then* I would be impressed.

Editted to add: Was cwolff being sarcastic? I hope so...

I actually agree with Obama when he said this:

"Russia is a regional power that is threatening some of its immediate neighbors…not out of strength, but out of weakness. "

Putin saw weakness and took full advantage of it.

Report: Ukraine military dolphins to switch nationalities, join Russian navy
Weeks after Russia annexed Ukraine's Crimea region, it plans to take custody of dolphins in the nation as well.
Not just any dolphins. These highly trained military mammals detect risks such as sea mines or enemy scuba divers trying to slip through. Sea mines are sophisticated weapons that can sink ships and other watercraft.
"The combat dolphin program in the Crimean city of Sevastopol will be preserved and redirected toward the interests of the Russian navy," state-run Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported Thursday.
Will Ukraine demand that Russia free Willy too?

(CNN) -- Pro-Russian protesters have seized state buildings in several east Ukrainian cities, prompting accusations from Kiev that Moscow is trying to "dismember" the country and carry out a replay of Crimea.

The protesters broke into a regional administrative building in the mining city of Donetsk on Sunday as well as security services offices in nearby Luhansk, where police said they had seized weapons. A self-proclaimed legislature, representing what it called the Donetsk People's Republic, then announced that it would hold a referendum by May 11 on whether the area should join Russia, Russian state-run news agency ITAR-Tass reported.

The report could not immediately be independently verified. The Russian news agency also said the Donetsk group asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to send a "temporary peacekeeping contingent."
So eastern regions of Ukraine is asking for Russian 'Peacekeepers' ... I'm assuming unmarked uniforms again...
