Somehow this is a response to Obama's debt addiction?

Since I never said that I can only assume that you are asking why I think he governs like a republican.

    1) Oil and Natural Gas production
    2) Lowers deficit
    3) Smaller government
    4) Killed OBL and is still going after terrorists as we saw just recently
    5) Aggressive monitoring ala patriot act
    6) Gave states control of welfare spending

Does something about him being democrat make him not the best president of the modern era to you, then?

No, this is pointing out why he's hardly "an extreme liberal." And Obama's "debt addiction" has a source. It's directly from the modern Republican playbook. You just don't like that he wants to give it (sometimes) to citizens and in defense of people's civil liberties. You'd prefer he gives it to corporations who don't have to pay any taxes, Republican style.

I don't remember where he said he was the best President in the modern era. Presumably, his outageous spending priorities just align more with cwolff's than Romney's would. Most Democrats think Clinton was a much better President.

You have no idea what I prefer, or what I like. All you've said is that his debt addiction is from a source, and that it's somehow the R's fault. Hardly compelling.

You're making this personal and I'm asking you to support your position objectively. If you can't do that I understand but I'm not going to get into a bitchfest about this.

You made the claim that were he a Republican, he'd be the best Republican president of the modern era. Not I. Somehow, his being Democrat invalidates those items you listed that would have made him that great president of the modern era in your mind. Am I misunderstanding?

    In case you forgot.

I'm making a larger point which is that Obama governs like a moderate republican. If his party were the GOP he'd be hailed for doing so much that's right in line with GOP values. Since he's a democrat he doesn't get credit for it from the right and the right has had to move farther to the right in order to differentiate themselves for Obama's administration. After all, there is no need to elect a republican to do what a democrat is doing already.

BTW, did I mention sky corporate profits and stock market with low interest rates and low taxes?
