Just got a text apparently recovery isn't going well for my nephew (he's 6months old). He had open heart surgery earlier this week and they moved him to a regular room last night but his breathing is becoming more labored so he's back to the PICU. Looks like I'm going to change plans and spend the weekend there so his folks can go get some rest.

I've had the hiccups for two hours straight and -nothing- is working. ><
    You slap Walkar's cheek, hard.
He continues, "I've decided that I'm not going to let you serve community service, so don't get your hopes up. To this aim, you may either pay the fine of 50000000 silvers plus any other outstanding debts you may owe, or serve a total of 120 minutes of incarceration. You may ANSWER me either FINE or INCARCERATION as your choice. But I digress. Choose quickly, now, lest I hold you in contempt of court for wasting my time."

Did you try befriending a tiger and asking him for advice?

Sorry your nephew isn't doing so hot, AR. Hope he gets better sooner rather than later. And your very real tragedy is not going to stop me from complaining about my inconsequential frustrations!

For fuck's sake. One of the roads I take to and from work is single lane. But the speed limit is 60 mph and there aren't any lights for a few miles. However! Inevitably, I get stuck behind some goat-humper doing 40 almost every day. The road widens to two lanes briefly (very briefly... just for going under the tollway) and these useless bags of skin speed up to 75 for just that portion so no one can pass them before they teeter down to 40 again.

was sitting outside reading and had a moment of panic that I left my favorite cauldron on the ground.

It won't be quick. They repaired two holes in his heart, apparently a condition that has the potential to exist in some babies born with downs, and he's got a lot of fluid build up now. Fighting that and working on getting ahead of the inevitable infections.

That's rough. Makes me treasure my small relatives all the more. I hope he gets better.

Friend is getting married in 5 days. New suit picked up off the rack for the occasion, only to discover the tailor I planned to see is closed on monday. It just needs to come in a bit at the waist, hopefully they can do it quickly enough even if I get it in tomorrow. If not, I guess I'll be wearing a baggy jacket. Boo. Shit, I need to find my ties.
