Excellent. You will have to be my alibi; I assume you're cool with it.

We were out drinking. It's pretty much impossible to light a fire while drunk. Or totally impossible.

How lucky, I just got new tires! I would make a poor alibi though, unless sobbing incoherently works.

That reading, while humorous, is not factually accurate!!!

You and I exhibit very different skills while drinking.

My nephew wants to drop out of high school. I have always been very careful to show him how much it sucks to be a high school drop out and to encourage him to not follow my shitty life path. Tomorrow I will try to see what is going on and try to bribe him if I can... if I can't, I may just pummel him.

Go armed with information. See if there are alternate schools or programs in your area other than public school. In my area, there is a program called Running Start where HS juniors can go to community college and get dual college/high school credit towards graduation. There are often technical or alternative learning centers in school districts that are a better option than traditional classroom. High school just sucks ass and you know you can't convince him otherwise. Help him find a better direction! Good luck and kudos for being awesome enough to care and want to help.

Yeah, unfortunately there isn't a lot of that for him... he goes to the same high school I went to, and he has the same problem. He is easily smart enough to handle all of the work, but he is bored out of his mind and hates his fellow classmates. Loves tests and hates homework. Since this kid was little I have been watching him live a less shitty version of my life, and I need to make sure it stays less shitty.

Going to try and ascertain his goals today, if he has any. I think he wants to go into game design... I may try to bribe him with a digipen summer workshop if he does well enough in school. It'd cost me a few grand but if it keeps the kid on a path that puts him in college, it would easily be worth it to me. I'll do anything I can to keep this kid from walking my road in life. You all know how much of a retard I am, but I was once a very promising youth. Tom (my nephew) is smarter than I ever was. If I can give him a little bit of wisdom, he may have a chance. And failing that, I will give him a beating. You know, as a last resort, hah.

I am a skilled drunken firebuilder. If I missed something and you meant "it" as in doin' it, and to that I must say that while I am a fun drunk, I am a great lover when stoned. I mean, I really seem to care a lot more when high- passionate, yeah.

Tell him he's likely to be bored all his life by the idiots around him, and that he best just buckle in and get used to it.

If he's actually smart, that is.
