Why should I care about future generations?
I don't get all of this talk about preserving the Earth for future generations. I am alive NOW, and for the foreseeable future I will live on an Earth that will be inhabitable, provide me with food, and be of a climate that is conducive for my life. In 250 years things might not be so great, but why should I care?
I will not be around at that time, I will be long gone, we will all be long gone. Our remains will be deep down in the Earth. All of this talk about do it for the "children" of the future and other such bullshit annoys me, and in fact actually makes me want to pollute and consume resources even more.
Why exactly should I care about what will happen 500 years from now? Because right now to be honest, I don't even give a remote fuck.
