I wore a t-shirt inside out the other day and when I looked in the mirror the next morning for a split second it surprised me that it read the right way.

I was craving some egg drop soup, two eggrolls, some combo fried rice, and some Hunan chicken with the little white box of rice with the wire top. The place down the block from me closed a while ago. My neighborhood has changed in the past 5 years. So I Googled.

Googling my zip code + chinese food or zip code + Hunan chicken yielded dreadful results. Places way to far to walk or even drive to. The one place I tried to drive to had lease signs in the window.

So I just drove and explored the next busiest street close by. And I found not only what I was looking for, but two other possible good take out locations. There was ample parking out side of a chinese food front, a Thai place, and the Mexican place all next door to each other in a quiet little urban stretch.

I found my egg drop soup, my two egg rolls, some combo fried rice, and some Hunan chicken. But thats not the mind blowing part of this story.

When I pulled in front and parked at my newly discovered take out place there was a construction sign there, and someone had written a name in black marker on it really small... almost like a signature.

It was my first name.
