Are you able to talk about this at all? I'm pretty confused. I'm guessing the obvious bio-lab implications or something, but I'm not ruling out some type of horrible SB apocalyptic future that this may or may not be portents of. Are you specifically not expecting the monkeys to die and they they (for some unknown reason) are? Or does it just suck that you have to kill monkeys.Originally Posted by Fallen

Testing the protection 50% of an IND drug will provide, along with the protection each of the two compounds which make up the drug will provide seperately. 5 NHPs per group, plus 5 controls. So, 5 should die, and hopefully 3 from the main drug, and 3 from one of the two components. Apparently, everyone but 3 from the main drug is good too, but meh. I don't like this manner of study. We've never done it before in NHPs.
It's depressing. Yeah, they're supposed to die, and our group is good about not letting them go until they die on their own. Other groups don't even give Morphine because it can lower heart rate. Still, makes me frown, hence the thread.

Only if they can give consent in a language I speak. Sign language, maybe. I don't know. I'm not a monkey expert, let alone a monkey fucking expert. All I know is that if we let them do whatever they want, something occurs that makes marky mark the hero of the human race when he frees us after the monkeys enslave us, and I am NOT cool with that.
