Charlie Kirk is no national hero in my book. He said some pretty stupid shit that may have influenced millions of young minds. Stupid shit that may influence hate against people in this world that I love and call friend, family, neighbor, and co-worker.

Yet, I still think he did not deserve to get shot and killed over it. I think him getting shot and killed over it hurts ALL of us. No one should be killed over politics or words. Thats terrorism. That is an act meant to put fear into people for speaking or expressing themselves.

All those people at that rally were not all Kirk fans. Some were there to debate him. To challenge his opinions. As we can see with any of his events thousands of people sometimes showed up to challenge him. His viewpoints were controversial and drew big crowds because of it. Lets not pretend he was some martyr or hero. He was a controversial roadshow.

Everything said here is taken out of context. If you bothered to listen to him, which I know you won’t, absolutely nothing he says is racist, homophobic, etc. Sometimes he made prejudicial statements, which is fair criticism, but despite the left’s watered down demon labels there exists a clear distinction between someone who occasionally makes prejudicial statements and being a bigot / racist / white supremacist / <insert label>.

More importantly, Charlie Kirk met with young people where they were (college campus) and simply invited people to engage with him in civil discourse. He was murdered for that reason and because he was highly effective & made an impact. You may disagree with every political viewpoint he had, and that’s fine, but it’s a sad state of America we live in when many (in this case I’m not saying you specifically as I believe you when you said he didn’t deserve to die) celebrate the death of an innocent man because they don’t like what he had to say.
