It's sad. Elon was really in a position to be a real hero to humanity until he revealed the white nationalist bullshit. That erases all the potential good he was working on. He wasn't doing it for humanity only certain people.

A parking garage at the Jacksonville airport burned today, causing the airport to shut down. Until they can be made safer and easier to extinguish, battery powered cars should be allowed only in ground-level outdoor parking spaces.

In a press conference, Mayor Donna Deegan said there were about 50 cars that were damaged from the fire that was still burning, but under control. Deegan also said the fire started on the second floor with one car and spread to other cars.

“Our firefighters went in and started getting those folks that were in the garage out of there and begin to actively fight the fire,” Powers said. “We have to be able to get inside of the vehicles, under the hood, inside the compartment space, to fully extinguish it.”

He said there was a partial collapse on the second and third floors, then a secondary collapse about 30 minutes later.

“We’re not putting firefighters in there. We’re using drones to look for anybody that could be in there...but we won’t know until we can get in there and physically verify...this is going to be a long, long process, obviously similar to what we dealt with at the St. Vincent’s parking garage,” Powers said.

He said the cars in both garages will not be accessible for a while.

Powers also said that they have video of the fire starting, but could not confirm what type of vehicle ignited the fire.

If you live in a place that has, or is getting ready to have, full self-driving Tesla robotaxis, please don't get in one of them, and give them a wide berth if you see one while you're driving.

Given the positive experiences we've had with Waymo and Tesla's FSD, we expected the results of our not-so-scientific test to come down to minute details — maybe by how many times the AI-driver would hesitate or if it would make a curious lane change for no apparent reason.

Tesla doors won't always open when the vehicle catches fire..

CHP officers say two men were inside when they noticed smoke coming out of the front of their Tesla 3.

The CHP says the two men said they pulled over but could not open the doors.

They were trapped inside.

We're told one of them broke a window and both were able to get out without any injuries.

• Salt water gets on them, as happened in at least one hurricane,
• The battery charger is improperly installed,
• The Tesla is involved in a crash,
• The owner fails to follow proper maintenance,
• The owner modifies the vehicle, or
• The Tesla is stored in a place with inadequate ventilation.

First off to be clear I don't hate billionaires. I just have a big issue with the American tax system that heavily favors the billionaire over everyone else.

What Elon did and does with Twitter/X can't be waved away with a suggestion to just not look at it.

He supports anti-immigrant movements all around the globe and his influence is massive.

I'm not surprised how many people defend him considering how our culture worships the ultra wealthy probably more than any god. Greed as a motivator is a real poison to the human race.

Letting Elon decide what the federal government spends money on was the biggest mistake in human history. You guys are so quick to sell out all the services that make our lives easier and does so much good around the world in the hands of someone who has no idea what life is like in the real world the rest of us live in.

The technocrat billionaires currently calling the shots Don't give a fuck about us. In fact they probably see us as in the way to real progress. You will never see any return on all that cut "fraud and waste".

That big budget the spineless repubs are letting get shoved up our asses is raising the debt ceiling, cutting our services, cutting regulations that make us all safe, and letting the rich keep all the tax cuts they got from Trump's first term.

The only part that you answered my question was saying that “he supports anti-immigration movements all around the globe.” Nothing is further from the truth. Elon Musk is an immigrant. He also recently affirmed his support for the H-1B visa program in contrast with many hardline conservatives.

If you were able to look at the merits of DOGE spending cuts and see past your hatred for Elon Musk, I believe even you would agree that such blatant wasteful spending is wrong.

Last, I just don’t see you having this same level of contempt towards George Soros or Bill Gates or Michael Bloomberg. All of those people have substantial wealth & have greatly influenced American politics. Why is that?
