    1. It’s not a sport because everyone does it!

    2. It’s not a sport because of a completely different reason!

    Lol.
Where a sport is headquartered means nothing. Baseball is played all over the world. Doesn’t change anything.

Now let’s pick this stupid point apart as well.
I guess cycling, and any shooting event isn’t a sport as well, because they both use mechanical devices.

Cycling uses muscles and shooting requires aiming.

Both require a mechanical device to do the sport.
And does aiming a gun really have more physical exertion, than driving a car at high speeds while fighting off fatigue and G-forces for 3 hours? No, not really.

I don’t care if you think so and so isn’t a sport. Your choice, but at least come up with valid reasons, not “everybody does it!, so it can’t be a sport!”

100% agree but there are other sports, where women have proved to be just as good as men, where they separate men vs women

No, this is NOT me advocating that men should play with/against women, I’m 100% against it.

But in Tennis, a 6x champion Bobby Riggs challenged any woman to a match in tennis and said there was no way a woman could ever beat a man, dude lost in 3 straight sets to Billy Jean King. It had more views than the Super Bowl.

There were claims it was rigged, and people bring up the age gap. But the dude call her out, challenged her and lost.

I think Gelston's point is barrier to entry for being competitive in these sports.

Like you can't just pick up a gun and be competitive in shooting. Likewise I'm sure you can't just get into a car and start competing in NASCAR, but it's probably not as involved as learning to shoot or being competitive in biking.

But maybe I'm wrong and you need years of experience to drive a car around a course.

If you jumped in a NASCAR and competed in a race, the first thing you would say is, I’m about to get my ass kicked. You have negative chance to be competitive… but you’ve been driving all your life. The same could be said for any sport baseball, football, hockey etc etc. it’s a different world.

Driving a car competitively takes years and year and years of hard work, dedication and training, and much like other sports a life long journey to hone their skill.

Drafting, understanding your car’s dimensions, weight, performance and handling perfectly, changing gears perfectly, down shifting correctly, Perfect muscle memory, not to mention the mental and physical endurance to do it for 3 hours while continuing to be at top mental and physical ability to maintain your split second decision making etc... the smallest of mistakes can mean the difference between winning, losing or possible death…the same as shooting a gun. Anything in a competitive professional setting takes years and years of dedication. From throwing darts to playing chess.

Do you need to hit the weight room to drive a car? Nope, but the same could be said for a lot of sports.

Car racing isn't a sport. Just like being a NY city taxi driver isn't a sport.

Are your referring to car racing, or NASCAR? Because they can be very different.
And why isn’t it a sport?

There is a reason there is a womens tennis league and there is a mens tennis league.

1 match does not make a trend. We have thousands of years of history that says a man would normally beat a woman in a physical sport.
