Wanna know what's funny, that recently came up in a Supreme Court discussion on the first amendment. Did you know that in some states causing a panic resulting in injury or death in the circumstance you named can result in jail time?

I have a feel you believe in personal responsibility, but I think your fear that any reasonable control of firearms will result in a government takeover. Since that's never happened in our country even with previous and current firearm controls, I'd recommend you rethink your stance.

We already have gun control on the books that mentally ill and criminals can’t purchase or possess firearms. It’s already a crime to shoot up a school or workplace. We already have criminal background checks. I reject any infringements to our constitutional rights like a registration list (aka what you call universal background checks) or bypassing due process (aka what you call red flag laws), or waiting periods, or so-called assault weapon bans, or any of that other nonsense. We can find common ground in taking measures to protect innocent lives without lighting the Bill of Rights on fire.

The sad part is if you actually did get what you wanted with infringing upon good people’s constitutionally protected rights, it won’t solve this problem. Why? Because good sane citizens are not the problem. I think deep down you know that.

On rethinking my stance…registration leads to confiscation. It’s happened every single time in every country as the very next step. What happens after confiscation is always some form of really bad nasty tyrannical shit. I will not reconsider my stance.

So, we need to ban all guns then?

Ah, how cute. You still think you're being constructive and adding to the conversation with your replies to people.

When the end result is innocents being murdered everyday, your party loses the ideological argument of rejecting any solution with the hopes the issue will go away or resolve itself.

That shooter in Kentucky? They were a good citizens until something changed in their life that spurred them to buy an AR-15 and to use it on his coworkers after being given a termination notice. No part of a reactionary strategy will resolve that event retroactively, that's not how reality works. We know the week prior to the event he purchased the gun, so again a two week waiting period means when he sought to purchase the gun, his method of execution of the event would not exist on the day it occured. Basic logic.

Registration leading to confiscation? No.. Due process prevents that. However if someone owns a weapon and later becomes a threat to themselves or others, taking away a known registered firearm is a reasonable cause under due process.

This is why the minority feels so set upon, your beliefs are purely irrational and so any reasonable compromise is viewed as the end of the world.

Real Americans don’t compromise their constitutional rights, and are strong in their convictions & moral character. I don’t know what else to tell you.
