Pulling entirely out of Afghanistan was a dumb fucking move. Now it's back to the stone age for basic human rights and a fresh™ timer on the next, inevitable, attack and war.
Disappointed or not, you're stuck in a 2000 year war, sitting on the fence is a short term option.Because of its Christian good, Muslim bad, I'm going to be severely disappointed.

Biden has ordered ground troops to go back to Somalia after Trump ordered them all out.
So much for you Democrats who praised Biden's horrible Afghanistan withdrawal because at least he was trying to get us out of wars!!!!
Let's just hope him sending troops to more war doesn't result in as many deaths as him pulling the US out of wars.
How many times does this make us going into that shithole? I have a friend that went there all altruistic and all with the Tenth Mountain Division early on. When his tour was up, he was super sober after his dose of reality. So many of these places either need to be conquered and assimilated forcibly because you can't get the people to do anything to improve themselves even with encouraged or we need to wall them off and let them rot. Hell, as bad as Gaddafi was, he didn't have active African slave markets.

your Acceptance

Whoopsy, Inspector General report on the failure in Afghanistan pins blame on Trumpy, a paranoid, ineffective Afghanistan President, and Biden for not undoing what the Orange Man did. It was doomed from the start, something Republican George W Bush should have realized before invading. Trillions in costs wasted. Go red team!
Watchdog report says Trump and Biden administration decisions drove collapse of Afghan security forces
The interim report from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction called the US decision to withdraw -- conceived by the Trump administration in 2020 and implemented by the Biden administration in 2021 -- the "single most important factor" behind the collapse of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
The inspector general's report, which also cast significant blame on decisions made by former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, is one of the deepest examinations to date at the reasons behind the stunning fall of the Afghan government last summer that saw the Taliban rapidly take control of Afghanistan amid a full US withdrawal following a 20-year war.
The interim report is another damning indictment of the failed planning and strategy that plagued America's vision for Afghanistan, even as special inspector general John Sopko wrote that the eventual collapse was "predictable."In essence, U.S. and Afghan efforts to cultivate an effective and sustainable security sector were likely to fail from the beginning.
Empire building for the US ended with Bush's second term, what a terrible lesson to learn about getting involved with despotic middle east countries. The Doha agreement, signed between the Trump administration and the Taliban in February 2020, shattered the fragile morale of the Afghan military, according to the SIGAR report. The Pentagon, over 20 years, had attempted to create a "mirror image to the US military," the report found -- something that never materialized and would have required years more training and assistance.
By 2020, Afghan forces still relied far too heavily on US personnel and support, despite $90 billion of investment by the United States over the course of the war.
