I call the early days of the internet the wild west. Like with society, when there are few laws and those few aren't really enforced, its a mess. Now everyone's daily activities and physical movements are tracked, stored, and mined for data to sell to corporations looking to sell you shampoo, chili, and/or whatever the fuck else they want you to buy so they can continue to fly on their private jets, eat caviar, and drink champagne.

Its all about manipulating US voters. I would not be surprised if it was foreign in origin.
And how exactly would you have the Government regulate the internet? Would you have it violate the Freedom of Speech? Everything on the internet is basically a form of speech. There is nothing physical here. Are you proposing the Government revoke Constitutional protections because people post things on the internet that you disagree with?

I'm tagging out on that particularly dumb statement but it's getting quoted. Take the wheel, swole Jesus.

That's the price you paid when you signed up for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc... YOU gave them permission in lieu of paying them anything.

You want it for free.. yet you don't want to pay the price. Typical.

I don't see what the big deal is. We already have many regulations in place to prevent advertisers from lying to us about their products.

Don't worry, Gel. You'll still be able to call people you don't like "faggot" from behind a computer screen and keyboard without any real repercussions.

Are you okay with a company lying to us as long as they have the word "news" in their name?

You didn't answer any questions at all. What would you have the Government regulate? What exactly do you feel they should do?

BTW, I call people faggot in person too.

An interesting thing I've noticed: Trump has never gone after PBS like Bush and the republicans threatened to do back in the 01's. Democracy Now and the News Hour run every weeknight.
Ah, WaPo. Aren't they getting the fuck sued out of them for slander because they're so non-biased and only report on facts?

Why should government internet regulators be trusted? Who's going to regulate the regulators to ensure the regulators are regulating properly and don't need regulator regulation?

If Trump came out tomorrow and said he's pushing for the internet to be regulated, you'd be ecstatic, no?
