That's about 7 dollars savings per week, times 52 weeks = 43 years to make back that 16k. Back to the drawing board bitches.
You can't put a price tag on saving the entire human race.

We've yet to show that we can effectively handle unintended consequences in sociology and politics, but have no qualms about making decisions that affect the entire planet? The results can only be disastrous.

I'm starting to believe a lot of your problems are rooted in poor reading comprehension skills. Let me link it for you again so you can read it slowly...I'll even bold the specifics for you:

Significant cooling would be required to reverse melting of glaciers and the Greenland ice sheet, which formed during past cold climates. The current C02-induced warming of Earth is therefore essentially irreversible

What will it take to fix global warming? Scientists say the world, within a few decades, will need to switch to energy that doesn't emit greenhouse gases.
    Heck, is that all?!

Wayward there is a difference between discovering new planets and using computer models based on numbers that don't even calculate when your looking at billions of years of climate history. That shit isn't even science, it's guessing.
I just didn't want to spin your head with the concept of planets causing wobble in a star's orbit. You don't seem to understand this shit, why would I think you'd understand anything else?

It's shocking that a Republican is being anti science. We've never heard that before.

Having our country not pathetically reliant on fossil fuels would benefit us in many ways. We could let the Middle East kill itself and not give a damn.
