Tell you what... toss your hat into the ring as a native american. Take the casino odds that you'll be admitted to the rarified few that benefit from those profits. I bet you 1000000/1 odds you end up living in a shitty trailer on a patch of desert the federal government has "reserved" for you as a "redskin" because you weren't supposed to be here when everyone else from Europe showed up.

Casinos. It's like clockwork. As soon as Native American comes up, one of you will throw out "But they have Casinos!" Reminds me of Pavlov's dogs.

They've never gone away and they've been able to stay relevant to fight back against words like nigger, buck and boy.
    And the new one. "Thug".

It's my contention that their representatives are. All black people aren't millionaires, but the NAACP can bring some pretty powerful lobby to any scenario. No, all Native Americans aren't millionaires...a lot of them are dirt poor. However, national leadership has enough money that they could be raising a serious stink over the Redskins if they felt it was something worth fighting about.

    Well, don't they?

To sit here and pretend like Native Americans don't have the means to fight against the Cleveland Indians is a joke. And not a funny type of "knock knock" joke joke.

I really do think most of them don't give a shit. Native Americans not giving a shit doesn't necessarily mean nothing should change though.

Leprechauns died out years ago after we forced them off their land and gave them O'doul's soaked blankets.
You had better pay your guild dues before you forget. You are 113 months behind.

This is such bullshit. Guess what bro, war is hell. I'm sorry Natives were here first. They lost, we won. That's how the world works. I don't owe them a damn thing for it.

It is argued by sociologist Irving Lewis Allen that slang identifiers for ethnic groups based upon physical characteristics are by nature derogatory, emphasizing the difference between the speaker and the target.
The first use of red-skin or red Indian may have been limited to specific groups that used red pigments to decorate their bodies, such as the Beothuk people of Newfoundland who painted their bodies with red ochre.[10] Redskin is first recorded in the late 17th century and was applied to the Algonquian peoples generally, but specifically to the Lenape or Delaware (who lived in what is now southern New York State and New York City, New Jersey, and eastern Pennsylvania). Redskin referred not to the natural skin color of the Lenape, but to their use of vermilion face paint and body paint.
It was not a derogatory name.

    Also..

The state's name is derived from the Choctaw words okla and humma, meaning "red people".
So.. when Congress says that Oklahoma is racist.. Then..then we can talk about the sports team.

But.. I Don't see ANY native Americans complaining about Oklahoma.... do you?

Having a better educated society would (hopefully) fix that, at least to a degree. I agree with Latrin's number that he took from the study, 40% of the wage gap is due to education differences...if we could bring even that part of it down to zero, it would do a lot for our society moving forward.
A lot do as a total number but maybe not a lot as a percentage. We're not very socially mobile anymore and it seems that mobility is getting worse, not better. The ones who get out of poverty are the exceptions but for the average person, they're not going anywhere, and their average kids are going anywhere.

Education is a key component in the circle. One person says race accounts for the wage gap another say it's education, then the sociologist will say that they are both part of the same continuum. Race plays into a shitty education which means shitty job which leads to your kids not having the resources for a good education and on and on. That's simplified of course.
